Game Review: Death Angel

Death Angel is a cooperative, card-based board game for 1 to 6 players. The players control a varying number of space marine terminator teams, dependent on the number of players, who venture through an ancient space hulk filled with Tyranid genestealers. It’s fast paced, exciting, and nerve-wracking. Death, on both sides, happens fast and frequently.

Game Review: Legend of the Five Rings

This will be slightly brief review because I will be providing more specific content elsewhere… more on that below!

As I stated in a previous post, I’ve recently begun playing a collectible card game (CCG) called Legend of the Five Rings (L5R). Three weeks ago I was wrangled into a demo game, picked up a couple of starter decks, and now I’m hooked. That’s not surprising I suppose, considering that’s what they’re designed to do. The game itself is very technical and complex, which sort of goes against the path I’ve been treading in regards to simplistic rules but there are some things that compel me to continue regardless.

Game Review: Horus Heresy

The BFG photos are still coming. I’m nearly finished painting them but lost track of time before I could get around to taking some shots. It is on my to do list for this weekend though. In the mean time here is a review of Horus Heresy, which I played with HappyDD for the first time last night.

Horus Heresy is a two player strategy game set in the Warhammer 40k universe. It lets players relive the pivotal moment in Imperial history when Horus betrayed the Emperor. One player takes on the role of the Imperials, controlling loyalist units such as Imperial Guard, Imperial Tanks, and Space Marines as well as four Space Marine Primarchs and the Emperor himself. The other player takes the role of the traitors, who have betrayed the Imperium and turned to Chaos. This player controls units such as Chaos Space Marines, Daemons, Traitor Primarchs and Horus. The traitors are attacking the Imperial Palace on Terra from space in an attempt to slay the Emperor.
